Collins Street Precinct
From New York to Paris, Collins Street Melbourne has it all, and more.
The traders association at Collins Street Precinct came to Evolution wanting a modern, sophisticated and user-friendly brand and website that would stand the test of time. We took on the challenge to design and develop a website that could stand on the world stage and represent a Melbourne icon. After many rounds and different designs, we created an amazing membership website for the Collins Street Precinct that would clearly and equally represent the traders along the street.
Collins Street Precinct represents a wide variety of traders so the brand had to be understated, but strong, reinforcing the mantra of it being ‘Australia’s Premier Street’. This was conveyed through a custom font in the logo, created by our lead designer Emily. Detailed further in their style guide, navy and gold were chosen as the primary brand colours, with hints of grey to present a consistent and neutral brand image.
To remain consistent across all platforms, once the logo was designed and approved, the brand application could begin. Our lead designer created a template for emails out to customers as well as an information kit for potential new members. The membership based website followed, and involved the design of both the internal information pages as well as the trader only part of the website. Members receive their own listing as well as their own log ins so that they can maintain and update their customer facing listing. This also gives them the opportunity to offer special member only discounts to their fellow traders, or post an event to the Collins Street Precinct event calendar to share with the general public.
