SEO. What is this strangely familiar acronym and why do you need to know what it is?

Although I have been in the design industry for a few years, a couple months ago I entered the world of web design and discovered the importance of this small word. Recently, I was in a meeting where it all finally made sense and it was that awesome moment where your brain links two things together and they just merge perfectly and you think ‘why hasn’t someone thought of this before!?’ But they have, that’s what this meeting is about.

Everyone wants their website to come up first on google, and it probably does when you type in your business name, but how often to people search for your business name to find out what it is that you do? Generally, it’s the other way around. Customers will open google and type in what their thinking, the service they need – one that you happen to offer. Where is your website now? Is it even on the first page of the google results? This is where SEO steps in, takes over and gives you a boost over the fence.

Search Engine Optimisation is a process which markets and works a website, so that it receives higher numbers in traffic, more conversions and more sales. It is the process of making your website rank higher in search engines like Google™, resulting in more traffic, more enquiries and lots of new customers! SEO can be achieved “naturally” or “organically”- which are the unpaid methods. Or, you may wish to pay Google AdWords and/or an SEO team like us to increase your rankings further, by paying per click (PPC) for visits.

The buzzword in the SEO industry is ‘Keywords’. Learn the meaning of that term and your brain will thank you for it. Keywords are the terms or topics that are associated with your business. They are also the terms that customers are most likely to search when they are looking for a business that offers the services you do. Mind blown? No, you don’t have to go into the deep dark web to start associating these ‘keywords’ with your website, go to the experts and get it done properly so you can start seeing results in the same amount of time you’ve figure out how to log into your google business account.

Newbies beware: No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google for highly searched, popular key terms. Many SEO companies might advertise that they can guarantee #1 ranking, but often what they neglect to inform you is, for which key terms they obtain this. A #1 ranking for key terms irrelevant to your business or for terms which are rarely searched, do not assist in promoting your capabilities or services. The cannot be guaranteed ‘organically’ the only way would be to put a lot of money towards AdWords for the most popular key term.

Maintaining a high ranking long term requires an ongoing strategy. SEO does take time, it’s not an overnight fix. Google doesn’t work this way. You see better results if you commit to SEO long term, to ensure you see benefits that are well worth the wait.

The good news is, we can help you with this! We have SEO experts in our team that guarantee to improve your results on google. We will help you establish your goal and see how we can achieve that within your budget. We can even sort out the rest of your marketing needs to fit in nicely with your new found brand exposure.
